This post has shown up on my dash several times now and I’m tired of it. I realize that sometimes most guys speak out one time and suddenly they’re feminist icons. But this is not the first time markiplier has said something like this by a long shot. He constantly speaks about how great girl gamers are, talks about them. When he plays games he talks about sexist moments and bothers to point them out (see his The Evil Within videos, his sarcasm when they leave Kidman behind is so great and in the DLC he calls out the gratuitous ass shot). He constantly hails games that have good female protagonists, in fact one of his favorite games is Alien: Isolation which has one of the best female protagonists out today. Mark speaks out about this stuff all the time. He hails his mom, who was a single mom for some time, as one of his biggest heroes. He is actually a great feminist and I’m tired of people deciding that he’s not because this is the only thing they’ve seen. I get it. Some guys are like that, some guys want hailed by feminist gamers so they say stuff like this, but Mark is not one of them. Just to add to my comments, Mark has also called out his male fans for being rude to his female fans. -- source link
