The legendary editor rescued Frank’s personal journal from a publisher’s reject pile and introduced her first-person account of the Holocaust as “The Diary of a Young Girl.” She also spent months trying Child’s recipes that filled the pages of “Mastering the Art of French Cooking.” Jones died today at her summer home in Walden, Vermont.
