Almost all mammals seem to perform best when there is one alpha male and several females. It’s logical if you think about it rationally.If you have one male, he can father several children by those women, which ensures survival of the species. If you have one woman with many husbands, it’s not as beneficial because a lady can only be pregnant with one baby at a time. That drastically reduces your changes that your DNA will live forever through offspring.What another reason? Friends. Imagine being able to live in the same house with 2-3 of your best girlfriends. You’d never be bored or without entertainment—or without sex.
