Working in events professionally at @brooklynbowl and with my passion project @unpopcultr, I’ve learned over the past few months (and especially this past week) that it’s very ebb and flow. There’s days when you’re killing it and everyone’s happy and there’s days where everything seems to be falling from the damn sky. The most important thing in executing an event is knowing how to deliver and remain calm when things outside of your control throw you for a loop. Specifically with @unpopcultr, I’ve found that there’s something very powerful about conceptualizing an idea and putting strangers in a room who gravitate towards that idea. It may not seem that deep but when you consistently bring people together and breed good energy in a fun environment in spite of all of that crazy stressful behind the scenes stuff that goes on, there’s something to be said about that. Beyond grateful for all of the amazing souls who came out last night, I really thought it was going to be dead but you all showed up and showed out!!!! Special thanks to @ashperusual and @hs_reid of @ftcsound for spinning with me, y’all are so dope and have such great chemistry. I’m sorry I didn’t have all of the Gucci Mane deepcuts, the man has like 72 mixtapes and 12 studio albums, you gotta give me a break! Lol See you at the next one!
