FDL-3 by Project FDLThis is a fully 3D-printed blaster that fires standard .50-caliber Nerf (or equivalent) foam darts, hence FDL: Foam Dart Launcher. It is capable of firing these darts at a rate of about 720 RPM and a velocity of about 170 FPS - for reference, standard off-the-shelf automatic Nerf-branded dart blasters typically peak at 300 RPM and 70 FPS.This power is achieved with brushless motors, concave flywheels, and a 3S LiPo battery, all controlled by a Sparkfun MicroView microcontroller that enables the user to configure the desired velocity, rate of fire, min and max spin-up times, burst control (single shot, 2-round, 3-round, or full auto), and more.Externally, the blaster features a standard N-Strike stock attachment point (the last photo shows a Worker stock attached), a picatinny top rail, dual paddle magazine releases, a flared magwell, and a modular foregrip attachment (optional Hip Shooter foregrip pictured). Exterior electronics: power switch, control knob/button, screen, 3 quick preset buttons. This particular FDL-3 is number 61 and was printed in Hatchbox Orange, Inland White, MakerGeeks Urban Fossil, and Hatchbox Black.Magazines pictured, in order: Worker 12-round “Pmag” // Nerf 6-round N-Strike // Nerf 10-round Desolator // Worker 10-round // Nerf 12-round Stormtrooper // Nerf 18-round Rapidstrike // Worker 22-round “AK” -- source link
