rhamphotheca:The Gidgee Spiny-tailed Skink (Egernia stokesii) aka Stokes’ Skink ranges widely across the arid regions of Australia, where it is often associated with rock outcrops, hollow logs, and tree hollows. They reach a length of up to 19.4 cm (~8.5 in). Gidgees tend to live in groups around their shelters, and are known to maintain group latrines away from their shelters. They eat mainly vegetation (like leaves, small fruits, and flowers, but will also take small invertebrate prey. Gidgees are monogamous, and have one litter a year. This is a viviparous species (the young are live born).photographs by Stu’s Images; Joel Abroad; Mark Marathon; and Silvain de Munck -- source link
