arsanatomica: arsanatomica:I put together this 6 foot boa constrictor skeleton.She was one of my snakes, and died over the Christmas holiday 2014, when I left her in a friend’s care, while visiting family.I posted this finished skeleton to my facebook a couple days ago, and was absolutely floored to receive a message from the Smithsonian. Wow……..certainly wasn’t expecting that.Here’s one of the first snake skeletons I did, 3 years ago. I’m going through all these old posts while getting the book together. It’s a shame you cant put moving images in books. When I did this in 2015, I was interested in the technical challenge of assembling skeletons with no external supports, no internal wiring and as little contact with the ground as possible. This guy touches the ground in 4 places. He has no internal wiring and is all glue. I actually still have this skeleton. She’s right there. -- source link
