Finishing up the Ordinal Scale half-jacket.This was simply the most tedious part of the whole costume. I had to make at least 5 passes to finish the trim.1) Basted the shell and lining together around the opening of the jacket and sleeves2) Made double-sided bias tape, 0.75″ wide for the bodice and 1.75″ for the sleeves, sewed them on one side; around 145″ of bias tape was made3) Sewed, clipped, and notched the corners and bends into the bias tape4) Stitched in the ditch to attach the other side of the bias tape5) Stitched a black line down the middle of all of the white bias tapeThe bias tape trim was made from heavy matte satin for the sheen and thickness. The jacket opens in the front by hook & eyes. It’s not finished until snaps are added to the underside to hold the jacket to the dress and the gold disk accessories are attached to the front and back. -- source link
