White Cloud Peaks Loop | 8/24/20 | 13.3 miles | Day 2 The next morning was hazy, and visibility wasn’t that great as I packed up camp. Climbing up to the top of Patterson Peak, I began the next stretch of the hike; it was a seven mile off trail section. Going up and over the granite peak meant I had to scramble up the top and slide down the other side on loose talus towards the next lake basin. This was a fairly tiring section of the trail. While navigating this section, I got off trail and had to go back up hill, climbing up a rock face to get back on track. After the off trail section, the rest of the day was on trail, through some gorgeous lakes and creeks.
