anilede: “Music of the Gerudo King“ There’s a long history behind this piece. This piece was originally going to be featured in a Ganondorf Fanzine, which had been delayed for a long time. I was given the option to do up to 4 pages for the zine, and I ended up doing 4 full pieces All 4 pieces I did had been completed January 2020, but because of Covid19, the production of the zine was halted for a year. As a result, I felt like the works I did was out of date compared to what I do now and ultimately made the decision to pull 2 of them from the zine. This one, and a portrait I’ve shared on tumblr previously.Because of the delay, a lot of artists in the zine started redoing their pieces or making new ones while posting the old ones. The original version of this piece I never felt confident in because it was so rushed for the January 2020 deadline. But this year the zine is finally on track again, so please take a look! Preorders for that zine are open until April 30, 2021! @ganzine2020Making the decision to pull it out of the zine so I could rework and refine it was the best decision I made for it <33 The idea of course was first sketched in 2019, but it’s far from the first time I’ve drawn Ganondorf as the Phantom, from Phantom of the Opera. In fact, one of the very first times I ever tried to color anything digitally was the same thought, but 17 years ago! As for this current painting, here’s a lot I changed! Though I never posted the original version publicly anywhere until now. Take a look below!I repainted his legs and hands, added candles, touched up his face, hair and overall body. It was something I’ve been working on for a while and finally got the motivation to finish ;v; I hope you enjoy it! All reblogs, comments and feedback are very much appreciated <33 ^_^ You’re gonna see a lot of Ganondorf art from me throughout this year X’D ~~~~~~~~~Find me!Anilede @ deviantartAniledeArt @ twitterAnilede.Art @ instagram~~~~~~~~~Ganondorf © NintendoThe Phantom of the Opera (musical) © Andrew Lloyd WebberArt © Myself, @aniledeMy work may not be reproduced, copied, edited, published, transmitted or uploaded in any way without my written permission. -- source link
