incurablescribbler: For @hindumythologyevent.Day 10: Dashavatar.Tagging the three mods: @1nsaankahanhai-bkr @soniaoutloud and @allegoriesinmediasresI’m technically choosing one Avatar outside of the Dashavatar, too, though Krishn is an incarnation of Narayana and is one of the Dashavatar, canonically. The Avatar outside of the traditional Dashavatar is Nara, who is Narayana’s soul brother and embodies the perfect man, as opposed to Narayana, who embodies the spiritual God, as far as I could interpret the text. The edit is for one of my favourite verses of the Mahabharata.नारायणं नमस्कृत्य नरं चैव नरोत्तमम् |देवीं सरस्वतीं व्यासं ततो जयमुदीरयेत् ||The edit deals with the first part of the Shloka. The full shloka is translated as this:I bow to Narayana (Krishn) and Nara (Arjun), the most exalted of men. Taking the name of Devi Saraswati and Vyasa, I start reciting Jaya (Mahabharata).Incidentally, Jaya/Vijaya is another one of Arjun’s names, as far as I know. The art I used are all stock photos, except the photo of Krishn and Arjun (art) by @Ruint on Twitter.Tagging a few of my mutuals: @ambitiousandcunning, @medhasree @shaonharryandpannisim @pratigyakrishnaki @hindumyththoughts @vishnupada @multipen @chaanv -- source link
