It was Carsten’s first triathlon. He’d purchased all new gear for the occasion- new bike, new trisuit, new running shoes - everything he needed to win. The only problem was he didn’t bother to try his gear out before the big day.It was a perfect storm- his trisuit was much too small, so much so Carsten struggled to squeeze into the skin-tight suit. Then, when he got to the cycling portion of the race, he had difficulty keeping control of the bike. That’s what caused him to run off the road, where he ended up falling from the bike and skidding across the grass.The impact from falling from the bike a the friction of sliding across the grass was all the strain Carsten’s tight trisuit could take. When he shook the stars from his vision, Carsten realized the suit had torn off entirely, leaving him completely naked. Not only that, but his wheel was bent - he realized he’d have to carry his bike three miles back to the start line, where he’d unfortunately left the rest of his clothes.It would be a long, embarrassing walk for Carsten through the throng of racers and spectators back to the starting line.
