She was soon aware that she was restrained to an operating table and naked, except for the sterile drapes which were arranged so that was exposed the length of her chest and abdomen. She was awware of the surgical staff and tried to cry out to them, but barely a whisper escaped her lips. They were aware she was conscious, but paid her little heed.
