Yoon So-Yi in 2005′s Shadowless Sword, before she underwent plastic surgery. To my eyes, her face used to suggest heroism and determination. She looked like a strong female protagonist who would choose to fight rather than surrender. In Shadowless Sword, and in Arahan, her image stirred the imagination. Yet she couldn’t find roles in South Korean television, since her face did not match the standard comedic features, so she decided to undergo plastic surgery to “correct” her square jaw. The operation went awry, leaving her with some serious medical problems, such as not being able to close her eyes. In 2014, she was working two jobs, simply to pay off her medical bills.Women simply shouldn’t have to undergo invasive surgery to fit pre-established standards of beauty. -- source link
