everlarkedalways: eala-musings: Your tag: we need hope today… This message of Hope that the series presents is probably the main reason I fell in love with the trilogy. I love the characters, especially Katniss and Peeta and their beautiful, bittersweet story. Katniss because she represents all of us regular folks who struggle with the burdens and challenges of life. Peeta, because he is, well - amazing! He is the embodiment of Hope and Love and enduring Spirit. He’s the reason the story works for me. Without him, and the way the story concludes, I would have been crushed and probably resented the story. I’ve read other dystopian tales that left me feeling so defeated, but this one inspired me. There have been some people who’ve stated that Katniss should have ended up on her own, that she didn’t need to “settle” or depend on anyone. I think they confuse the idea that Katniss needed to end up strong and self-reliant, with her justified reward of love and happiness, as if the two things can’t coexist. We all need our dandelion in the spring. Thank you eala-musings for always bringing these into focus. It’s so true. I don’t understand how people can uphold certain things over love. Love what you said about Peeta. It’s spot on. -- source link
