tenaflyviper:scarf-rat:the-great-and-powerful-satsuki:scarf-rat:the-great-and-powerful-satsuki:scarf-rat:dennybutt:the-great-and-powerful-satsuki:i wasn’t going to do this but,Gather ‘round children i have a story to tell.this is my niece. She just turned seven April 8th. Some of you probably have seen this picture already but its one of the only ones i got of her so meh.My niece is in the target demographic for MLP. She adores the show. Her favorite ponies are Pinkie and Fluttershy, and she can do any line from any episode if you ask.Now I’m not gonna really go into detail, but this kid’s been through a lot. And the few times I get to see her, she immediately reaches for the remote so she can turn on the DVR. Pony is her escape from her life. She loves it so much. And she never really had anyone to share it with until she started coming over.We sing songs together, color together, watch episodes together you name it. If it has to do with pony, we’ve done it. And it makes her so happy to the point that when its time to go back home, she doesn’t want to leave. Why am i bringing this up?Well I’ll explain. A few people know this story already but ill tell it anyway. My niece loves Equestria Girls, the movies and the song that was a parody of California Gurls. Now, one listen, she heard Pinkie say, “Bronies hang out too!” And she asked me what bronies were.I told her they were men and women but mostly men a bit older than her who watched the show. She practically shit herself with excitement. She was ecstatic. “Show me! Show me!” She said. So I showed her pictures of cosplayers and videos from Bronycon and I swear I never saw her so happy in her life. She didn’t see these people as a threat. She didn’t think they were “stealing” the show away from her. She was so happy because there were people just like me who she could talk to, and not get shhhed or have to explain everything. The next time I saw her she kept bringing me things: her Fluttershy Build-A-Bear, the toy Pinkie she got from McDonald’s, the Rarity brushable I brought her. I asked her why she was giving me this stuff and she said “Here! Now you can share these things with your brony friends!”She wanted me to share these things with grown people. It’s kind of hilarious when you think about it, but it kind of warmed my heart. Because she doesn’t have much when it comes to pony stuff. (I buy her things when I can.) But she was so willing to let go of them for a while because she wanted me to share them with my brony friends.Kids don’t care if grown men watch My Little Pony. Kids see me walk around in my pony shirts and run up screaming and giggling like idiots. They love the fact that they can talk to so many people about what they like. My niece barely knows anything about the brony fandom and welcomed it with open arms. That’s how it’s supposed to be.When kids are less judgmental then some grown people on here, that should really say something about you, and your attitude. this is beautifulto be fair the kid probably hasnt seen any of the gigabytes of ponyporn yet, and doesn’t know how many bronies are just fetishists.Literally it’s a minority. And whats wrong with people who have a fetish? As long as they arent hurting anyone it shouldn’t be a big deal. And she won’t see any of the porn because safe search on Google is cleaned up twice every month to make sure no kids come across it and pony porn isn’t on anything that kids go on.yeah okay try and tell me that when -your- little sister stumbles across some shit that made it through the filter and is literally so disgusted that she has to stop enjoying something she really loved. opinions are opinions and you have every right to disagree with me but when your fetish negatively impacts -children- that’s when i start to have an issue with the shit you feel me?that’s the point of the clean up though. to clean it up. Its a process. it’s not a one and done thing. I’m sorry that happened to your little sister but you can’t just blame that on an entire fandom when google doesn’t even check their own image filters. its not done by a person in a room in front of a computer, its done by computers, an automated system. computers make mistakes. and that what the clean up is trying to prevent.you know what computers -don’t- do? draw porn of a dying fan’s pony OC that was put in the show even though the people behind the show explicitly asked them not to. you know what the bronies did? ^that.Hey, buddy? You might actually want to know the facts before you go around spewing bullshit you likely got from a highly biased source.Sylvain Portlance is a an adult. HE IS 18 YEARS OLD. He is not “terminally ill”. He’s disabled, yes, but he’s not in grave condition. The Make a Wish Foundation never made any public statement regarding Sylvain, or bronies.Sylvian’s mother has openly apologized about her initial statement, as she was unaware of Sylvain’s feelings on the matter.Sylvain himself has openly stated that, as an artist himself, he is open to all kinds of art, and has no qualms whatsoever with whatever anyone decides to draw with his OC.There was never “a ton” of porn of Stellar Eclipse. At the time that this occurred, there were only TWO IMAGES, and BOTH BY THE SAME ARTIST.The artist had no idea at the time that the character was anyone’s OC.It was not the artist that decided to send either of those images over Twitter. Those were the actions of a couple of idiots on 4chan intentionally trying to cause drama. The artist immediately removed the images at the mother’s initial behest, prior to the Twitter apology. They did not leave them up, or continue to circulate them, out of spite. You might want to read through the rest of this post as well. Sunshine, you get all of jack shit from making sweeping generalizations about others that you’ll never even meet. Maybe–MAYBE–you get a fleeting sense of “superiority” over someone else, but the only other thing you get is coming off like a complete and utter douchebag with zero self-esteem.Also:And the adult content on places like Derpibooru has default filters that have to be manually disabled for anyone to even see it on the site.Meanwhile, you’re surprisingly quiet about things such as the Homestuck fans drawing porn of underaged children (including some explicit rape porn drawn by one of those lovely tumblr “feminists” that was campaigning against the “Ask Molestia” blog). People on tumblr sexualized a fucking clock and pad of paper. They sexualize actual celebrities, and ship them together. There is no fandom in the history of fandoms that has not engaged in exactly the same behavior as every other goddamn fandom, so you can stop pretending that there’s any goddamn difference from one fandom to the next. There will always be a smaller contingent of people producing adult content. This has been going on for literally a century (go look up “Tijuana bibles”, hon). However, with this fandom, we’re talking somewhere between seven and twelve MILLION PEOPLE, and that’s not even accounting for fans overseas. So get over yourself, chuckles, and stop pretending that the smell of shit only wafts in one direction, because it’s coming pretty strongly from yours as well. -- source link
