i was going to do a set of character designs based on standard winter holiday imagery but I got through ‘snowman’ and 'reindeer’ before i had to put them away to get to other work so now they’re Carrocole and Trudge, a couple of small gods in the Small Guide world who live in the same semi-rural area by the sea. Carrocole is a god of strange weather, finding people lost in harsh conditions, surprise bounty, preserved fruit,  and good times during bad times. She’s who you go to if you need to find a little spare cash or food or sanity to make it through the winter and she likes to party. A real chill babe. She’s taking on a lot of roles because a few of the older gods in the area are mysteriously gone and she’s filling their spots like a champ. Also she’s a snow monster made of corpse parts from followers who said she could have bits of their frozen bodies when they die in return for grand boons but that’s not really important. You can’t even tell they were someone else’s bits, they all Become Her eventually. It’s only disturbing once you notice she’s not consistently warm to the touch.  Trudge is a god of spite, pettiness, revenge, mischief, fortitude, perseverance, and motivation. Someone fuck you over and you’re prepared to walk through the snow uphill both ways to beat their ass? Welcome to your new cheerleader! Are you fighting the elements while on an important quest that no one thinks you can accomplish because they underestimate you constantly and the only thing you can think about is the sweet, “I told you so!” after you save an entire town with the medicine you’re carrying? He’s there for you. Are you willing to brave possible death in the icy hells just to piss on someone’s grave? Then know that when you see only one pair of footsteps, that is when he carried you. Some people think he’s evil but he would refer to himself as 'spiteful good’. Actually a really nice and excitable guy if he deems you worthy of his help. If you lie to him or he finds your target undeserving there is nowhere you can hide. He does not like being used, persistence is his thing, and he def holds a grudge.
