I understand anti-Israel sentiment just as I understand anti-any nationalism or any country sentiment. Anti-Semitism, though? This is revolting and while I’m used to it on the far right, it is more difficult for me to swallow on the left. Note the lack of Israeli symbols. Note how Jews are represented by the most recognizable of religious garments. Note how the grotesque “Jewish nose” dominates the face. Note the use of tropes that have been in play in anti-Semitic propaganda for centuries - the Jew controlling the world, the Jew as the puppeteer, the Jew as shady. and even lascivious. This isn’t a comment on Israel or Zionism. This isn’t an example of revolutionary art. This is one of the oldest forms bigotry and racial and religiously motivated hatred. -- source link
