polidion: rouge-fandoms: polidion: animerose96: polidion: animerose96: polidion: ahhhhhart: I saw an incorrect quote post from @your-royal-momoness and was inspired to make this comic! I at think it turned out ok haha (*ノωノ) So, I’m not a big fan of shipping in general. Just never been my thing, but i get the appeal from a more analytical angle. But this is the worst ship I have ever heard of and prey to God that I never see it on my dash again. I understand why this ship popular on Tumblr (gay), but it makes no sense to anyone who knows anything about these characters. But the conversation is you and Kestrel But it isn’t? Neither of us were this direct (and it’s not like either of us would have picked up on it anyway). But that’s not the point. The point is that this ship is an abomination to these characters. Well I reblogged it because I thought the art was pretty. That’s what I cared about. You didn’t have to acknowledge it. Because if we just ignore the things we don’t like then we’ll just be a better person living in a happier world? No. I will reblog and rebuff what I am passionate about. You reblogged for the art, I reblogged to address a dumb ship, which is no less valid a reason than your own. But no, no, you’re right. I don’t have to acknowledge it. I *choose* to acknowledge it because I want to get better at calling out bull sh*t when I see it, and what better place to start than this? Or you could just not be a dick and let people enjoy what they like. The person who made this comic put time and work into creating something for a ship that they enjoy. Interacting with a post just to say you hate the thing they enjoy doesn’t make you better at “calling out bullshit,” it makes you an asshole. If you don’t like this ship that’s 100% fine and valid, but make your own post rather than tearing down a piece of artwork that someone made for it. I… made no comment on the art? Or the artist? I only addressed the ship itself. So, let me try and clear the air a bit here: the art itself is amazingly drawn and I hope the artist is proud of their work and talent because, again, the art is amazing. I sincerely apologize for the confusion because it was never my intention to insult the artist, even indirectly. And, because I feel the need to clarify, this also means I am not trying to insult anyone who supports the ship. You like what you like regardless of my (or anyone else’s) feelings on the matter.I must also acknowledge that my poor communication skills made this look worse (I think). While I don’t like the ship, calling it bull sh*t is simply inaccurate. No, the bull sh*t was @animerose96’s comment about me and @kestrelsparverius (she literally saw our relationship blossom from close to a year of denial on both sides and has sent us each memes about our relationship far more accurately) and telling me to just not acknowledge it (though more the first one). Just trying to ignore things (and people) I don’t like is part of why I have so much trauma from public school.Regardless, I apologize for my aggressive tone (especially in my last post) and the miscommunication. I cannot promise it won’t happen again, but I can try to do better. While it is the artists apology to accept, I thank you for apologizing. I am also sorry for coming off rudely. I believed your responses were meant to insult the artist for both their art and choice in ship. I would also like to offer you a word of advice for the future, if you’ll take it. The ships you like and dislike are your own business, but commenting your dislike for a ship under a post like this comes off as you bringing down the creator. Especially because you didn’t preface your comment with a compliment of the artwork itself. If you feel the need to express that you don’t like a ship while rebloging an art piece that you enjoy saying something like, “I don’t really like this ship, but this art is great” comes across a lot nicer. Otherwise please just make your own solo post talking about your dislike of a ship so no one is unintentionally brought down. Either way, I’m thankful that you have clarified what you meant. I hope you have a nice day! -- source link
