Let’s focus on story lines and character development with less focus on the monster of the week and more focus on an over arching story line2015: Let’s see if we can make a show on a budget of 3 dollarsfull circleOkay, so: Be Cool, Scooby-Doo (the 2015 series) gets a lot of hate for the art style, and I get that. It’s a style associated with shitty primetime & late-night cartoons. But it’s only skin-deep.The show is consistently funny, and lets Daphne have a personality and jokes that don’t have anything to do with being rich or in love with Fred. There’s well-animated sequences in every episode (because art style is not animation quality).It is, at the very least, far funnier than anything before the 80s, and… look, I grew up on A Pup Named Scooby-Doo, but it was not quality animation. It was choppy, heavily reliant on exaggerated “takes”, and full of the same shortcuts that were popular in the cheapest cartoons of the time. BCSD is miles ahead of it in terms of the effort put into each frame, if you don’t take into account the purely preference-based differences of art style.Also, really? Leaving out The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo?Be Cool Scooby Doo is SO MUCH FUN :DI was put off by the animation style at first but the show is actually REALLY good and really fun and a super enjoyable cartoon to curl up, watch and giggle over :D And oh my gosh Daphne and her puppets“Puppets are fun…mysteries are fun…am I the only one doing the math?” Those puppets have done a lot to win me over. -- source link
