Madness This card is about the mental condition. In a good light, it can mean inspiration (often for artists, writers, or musicians), a mental breakthrough or stroke of genius, and vision. However, it is a very sinister card, so more often than not it speaks of hidden dangers, hallucinations, lack of control, depression, mental illness, or drug/alcohol addictions and other self injuring behavior. This card is very important to me personally. The way I see it, it is the darkness we must go through in order to reach the light. Even in this period, it can be possible to use what little control you have over your situation to your advantage; some of the world’s greatest music has been written by some of the most depressed people. Often, the worst periods in a person’s life can make them the strongest. Those who have come face-to-face with a terrible experience and beaten it tend to be more empathetic, kind, understanding, and confident. This card can also be about a curtain being pulled aside to show who you really are, dark parts and all, which can be both scary and liberating. This might mean that you should put someone in your confidence and let them help you, or it may mean that your bad habits will be discovered by those around you. You might even be the one to learn something about yourself. -- source link
