traverse-our-universe: VDB158 region “This region at the borders of Andromeda, Cassiopeia and Lacerta measuring 5.82x2.94 degrees contains several areas with nebulosity. LBN 534 (GAL110-13) is the best known but the area to the left is more mysterious. Possible candidates are LBN561 and LBN600.” Lynd’s Bright nebula 289 (LBN289) “All I can find about this nebula is that it has number 289 in Lynd’s Catalog of Bright nebulae. It is not bright at all and “Hidden” in a dense Milky way star field. In the middle of the field of view we can see an open star cluster with code DO45. The location is: RA 21h12m, DEC 37D00m.” NGC1333 / L1450 “NGC 1333 (The blue reflection nebula and associated star cluster) contains hundreds of stars less than a million years old, most still hidden from optical telescopes by the stardust.” Captions & images by Kees Scherer on Flickr; links to each photo above. -- source link
