omgplants: desixlb: the black sapote was one of the highlights of our mexico city trip. it was like digging into a green ball of chocolate fudge, only less sweet. i was dreaming of mixing in coconut, agave nectar, dried fruits and nuts for a delicious vegan truffle ball. we saved the seeds but are doubtful they will grow in foggy san francisco. is anyone growing this? © desixlb 2014 Nice! These are SO good. I was lucky enough to find some in my city. Let them get super ripe and they almost taste like brown sugar (to me at least). I think it would make an awesome topping for French vanilla ice cream! *I tried to grow it but that was a no go. Not sure if there is some trick to it, though.* -- source link
