Todays Snake Is:The Round Island Burrowing Boa (Bolyeria multocarinata) was a nonvenomous species endemic to Île Ronde in Mauritius. First described in 1827, no individuals have been observed since 1975. Little is known about this snake, though it is thought to have fed primarily on lizards native to the island, several of which are still extant but considered endangered. This species is believed to have been lost due to soil degradation from non-native animals, a fate unfortunately common to isolated, insular species.(x) -- source link
