I completely do not think trans people need to disclose they are trans before having sex with someone. If they’ve reached the point in transition where you can’t tell they’re trans without them telling you, why do they need to? It’s in the past. If someone was born with a cleft lip and had that surgically corrected would you expect them to tell you that before you had a one night stand with them? No? So why is this different? Someone’s past is not relevant to the sex you have with them & it won’t affect you one way or another. Later finding out something you might think is icky about someone you’ve slept with is NOT comparable to rape, I can’t believe there are people who say “if a trans person doesn’t say they’re trans before having sex with someone, it’s rape because they’re misleading their partner”. Give me a break. I mean yeah, it’s one thing if they LIE and say “no, I’m not trans” if you’ve outright asked them (still not RAPE though), but that’s so unlikely to come up and they shouldn’t just be expected to bring it up out of the blue. -- source link
