Celine Brideau is a born designer.  Native to a small Acadian area of New Brunswick, where fashion is only a fantasy, she grew up expressing her emotions through creating, drawing and making clothing.  Following her heart, she went on to study Fashion Design in Quebec, and with perseverance and a bit of stubbornness, she achieved her dream of opening her own boutique, CBrido Collection, in Downtown Fredericton, this past July. “Fight for your destiny”…  These are the words that 26 year old Celine lives by.  Passion, ambition, and determination are the qualities that drive the CBrido brand – a collection offering Ready-to-Wear clothing for women.  Every garment is designed with a mix of vintage and modern influences, with feminine cuts, and quality comfort. “Fashion is a lifestyle and it expresses our way of being and our personality. Feel it and be the masterpiece of CBrido collection”  - Celine Brideau What was it like attending NY Fashion week? First it was a dream come true!!! I never thought that a Fashion show organizer from New York would contact me personally to invite me to Fashion Week in NYC. For me it was an opportunity to show people that I’m here in NB, persevering in this difficult industry and working hard to be recognized as a Local NB Fashion Designer. The experience in NYC gave me a lot of contacts - designers from around the world, models, fashion industry people and more…  I’ve made a first step in NYC and want to go again. Going to such a big city with people who are really into fashion was challenging for me. I didn’t know what to expect and if people would like my stuff there, but I’ve made several sales, so mission accomplished! What kinds of things inspire you? It always related to my mood, but more specifically I like the Historic influence; culture, architecture and most important the evolution of the women…I am proud to be a women and I always create according to the women body. What other designers do you look to for inspiration? A lot!!! Jean-Paul Gaulthier for his fun, Alexander McQueen for his theatrical inspiration, Yves Saint Laurent for the classic and Balanciaga for the feminity.  Just to name other because I can’t stop…Temperley, Comme des garçons, Eve Gravel………..and more! What’s next for you?   Now I am focusing on the clothing for my store on 340 King Street, Fredericton. I have to produce winter clothing really quick because NYC took a lot of my time and now I’m a little late for the winter production… but it was valuable ;) In December I’ll have some amazing Christmas outfits…  In spring I’ll be a part of the Ottawa Fashion Week and I’ll also try to participate at the Mercedez Benz Fashion show start-up. In the meantime, I am also working to build my website and online at www.cbrido.com. I have more projects up my sleeve, there’s always more… Be passionate and work hard! -- source link
