People pay this artist $100 to send them hate mail: ‘I’m not as offensive in real life, but I probably am secretly’A British artist who goes by the name of Mr. Bingo came up with an unlikely way to make money: send people hate mail and charge them for it.As a freelance illustrator, he figured he could fix the problem of “people not getting enough fun post” by drawing original illustrations to accompany random insults on postcards. After tweeting about it, Mr. Bingo began receiving requests from all over the world for his “Hate Mail.” It became so popular he’s had to shut down the service and reopen 10 times to keep up with demand. He charges £50 ($100) a postcard, plus postage. Since the project’s inception, the London-based artist has sent 928 postcards to “(mostly) willing recipients.”“It’s the ultimate creative project for me. The challenge for me is to see if I can come up with a thousand different ways to insult someone,” he said. -- source link
