Honeycomb Coral Slime Mold spotted on the property. Not only are slime molds pretty cool to look at but research into these brainless organisms has shown that they have the ability to learn and communicate with other slime molds using chemical signals. They can merge into a large mass to aid in traveling and to avoid competition. This is when we see them, traveling around after rains producing fruiting bodies like the ones pictured here that will release their spores.
