(Monday, 26. May) One thing I missed about Japan after our last trip was the food. So now that we’re finally here again, I’m pretty much working my way from one foodgasm to the next. Already on they way to our hotel on sunday evening we stopped by all the convenience stores we saw, to check for the snacks we remembered fondly from last time. Got myself an Omuriceball (Rice mixed with ketchup, wrapped in a thin layer of omelette) and then the waffle thingie you see on the first pic. It’s actually two soft waffles with whipped cream and vanilla custard in between. It tastes divine. By now I’ve eaten 3 more of those. The main plan for monday was to go to the SEGA Joypolis, an indoor amusement park we visited last time as well. This time, we went there straight after it opened, so it was pretty empty and we didn’t have the endless queues we experienced when we went there with an Evening Pass (admission after 5pm, oviously costs less than a day ticket but due to the long waiting times, there were many rides we couldn’t do before it closed at 10pm). We did some really cool stuff, several Zombie Shooter games and virtual reality rides, also got first place at a bob sled simulation and I did some… “dance dance revolution for your hands” kind of game, which I’ll upload a video of later. The ticket also allows us to leave and re-enter the place all day, so around noon we headed for a restaurant we had seen earlier. Lunch deals are always a smart choice in Japan, since even expensive restaurants become quite affordable. Photos 2-4 show you what we got for lunch, one free drink included. I’d called yakiniku or sometimes “Korean BBQ” and as you can see it’s thinly sliced (really high quality) meat you can grill right at your table. The sides were quite nice too, but oh god, the meat just melts in your mouth and the sauce it was marinated in was so good. All in all it was 3400 Yen. Later (some more Joypolis in between) we also had some of those ridiculously delicious crepes and even more konbini snacks later… yep, that was a good day. Now if you will excuse me, I gotta get dressed for another yakiniku lunch! -- source link
