The KV-1S, now relocated to tier 5, was formally the most feared tier 6 heavy tank in the game, mounting a very powerful 122mm cannon that can, if rolled a high enough damage roll, one shot tier 4 and 5 tanks. After the 9.3 update, it’s been given a significant makeover. It’s lost it’s top modules and given an 85mm cannon, similar to the KV-1 85mm gun. Despite the changes, the KV-1S is still a force to be reckoned with. It’s better mobility coupled with the KV-1’s frontal armor gives the 1S a significant boost to being a good heavy tank. The only downsides to the tank are it’s slightly less powerful guns compared to the KV-1. Overall, the KV-1S may have lost it’s bite, but it’s bark is still here. -- source link
