I don’t have the time for a full ID rn, but summarized: Basically, Etsy store owners are going on strike from April 11-18 to protest a rise in transaction and shipping fees that negatively affect seller profits. They have been steadily increasing from 3.5% in 2018 to 6.5% (as of April 11, 2022) after Josh Silverman became CEO. There’s also an Off-site Ad program that can take up to 15% of a sale.Organizers recommend shopping before the 11th, buying from sellers on a different platform or boycotting until the strike is over. Also, there’s a reselling issue with some products that are allegedly handmade but are really re-sold products from AliExpress, which isn’t enforced well despite being against Etsy policy. -- source link
