bimboisbetter: Frank tried to act normal. He did his best not to stare at Melissa as they watched the movie. He tried to be confident. This is gonna work, he told himself. He tried not to worry. She didn’t seem to have any reaction. That was probably good, at the beginning, right? The subliminal messages were designed to not be noticed by the conscious mind. She thought they were just sitting, eating some pizza and watching some dumb comedy. She had no idea the movie was programming her mind. Or, at least, it was supposed to be. Frank was immune since he knew it was there. The suggestions couldn’t take root, because he was too aware of them. Or something? It had been explained to him, but he didn’t really follow the technical side. Apparently it was- Melissa giggled. That was new. She didn’t giggle. Laugh? Sure. Chuckle? Of course. Snort? Occasionally. But Frank had never heard her giggle before. He liked it. A lot. It was such a stupid joke she giggled at, too. That had to be a good sign. And, as he peered over at her now, he noticed she was watching the whole movie with a kind of spacey smile. Her head was cocked to the side a bit. All in all, she looked less like the PoliSci grad student she was, and more like the giggly ditz Frank wanted. As he looked, she reached one hand up languidly and started twirling her hair. Frank relaxed a bit at that point. Things were going just fine. -- source link
