I made it! We hit the ground running today. My flight landed at 7:30 this morning, 48 hours after leaving Des Moines, and Helen (the Recoleta librarian) picked me up at the airport before breakfast with my sister Emily and her business partner, Lexi, who leaves tonight. We started training at the library around 9:30 and got caught up. I promised pictures of volcanos and old books. The volcano is Chachani, the tallest of the three volcanos that surround Arequipa. I was so excited I forgot to take any pictures of the books this morning, so this is a picture I took last spring of one of my favorite pieces in the collection, Hanac pachap cussicuinin. It’s the first polyphonic music printed in the New World–Lima, 1631. More details on projects in the next update. -- source link
