onionpainter:rotationalsymmetry:onionpainter:Onions40"x15" [ID: a detailed painting of a row of red, white, and yellow onions in a row on a shelf, which somehow inexplicably resembles Da Vinci’s The Last Supper.] Thanks very much for the ID! It’s interesting that you compared this painting to The Last Supper. That’s something I get a lot about this painting, despite my lack of intention to make that reference during its creation. If we compare them there are definite similarities in composition. Both are long and horizontal in shape and depict a scene of plenty, with a few figures in red scattered through. The skin of the left most red onion has a very similar shape and colour to the red shawl of the effeminate St. John, and the skin of the right most red onion points to the center of the painting in a similar way to the blue clad figure on the right. In any case, as a Davinci enthusiast it is a great honour for my work to be compared to his. -- source link
