ziva-sims: simsrocuted: ziva-sims: I tried baking cinnamon buns. Well, they taste better than last time (when I miserably failed) but they’re veeeery far from being as good as those I had in Sweden. I need to find a Swede willing to teach me how to bake proper kanelbullar :P This is how it’s done :D Nope. Noooope. Sluta det. Jag kommer att gråta. I take it you’re following a Swedish recipe. My tips are:- Find nib sugar, “sucre perlé”, the topping is vital and you need to completely COVER the buns :)- I’ve read somewhere that you need more French flour than suggested in a Swedish recipe, so maybe add a dl or two?- Roll the pieces of dough out as thinly as you can. Using oil instead of flour on the baking table can help.- For the filling, triple the amount of butter the recipe suggests, double the amount of sugar but let the amount of cinnamin/cardamom stay the same. Mix the sugar and cinnamon/cardamom on the side, spread the butter on the dough and then put the spices on top. It’s easier to spread this way!- Keep eyes on the plate in the oven at all times!! They’ll continue to bake a little while after taking them out, so take them out when they look ALMOST done. Super important!!!- Let them cool on a… oven grid? Dunno what it’s called?
