ralphsmotorbike: “I like the story of Sir Ralph Richardson going into the studio to make a recording for an anthology disc of Wolsey’s farewell speech from Henry VIII. Parting from his motorbike (‘There, there, shan’t be long’) which, happily, he left on the pavement outside, he came into the studio and announced: ‘There are 30 lines in the speech. I’ve cut them up into six sections of five lines each. I’ll give you three versions of each section and you can take your pick.’ Being the perfectionist he is, of course, he then spent half an hour getting the first word right.” (Michael Billington in The Guardian, 1977) -- source link
