Local supermarket had a sign in the veggie corner showing different ways that you can enjoy eating daikon (Japanese radish) - upper part is sweet, so it’s nice for making salad or daikon oroshi (grated radish); middle part is softer, so it’s good for stews or oden; bottom part has a nice pungency, ideal for tsukemono (pickled daikon) or a soup ingredient! -- source link
