typhlonectes: Conservation Plan for the Ozark Hellbender The final recovery plan for the Ozark hellbender salamander was released by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to help stop their decline and begin to rebuild their population so they no longer require listing under the Endangered Species Act. Hellbender salamanders are fully aquatic salamanders that can reach lengths of more than 2 feet and are the largest salamanders on the continent.
