I got an email from Quora today to let me know that one of my answers was collapsed. On further investigation, it’s my answer to the question, “What if Serbia won the Kosovo war?” Most of the time, it’s largely pointless conjecture to wonder “What if?” in various historical scenarios. For instance, “What if?” scenarios based around what might have happened if Hitler won World War II never seem to entertain a not unreasonable guess, that the Third Reich would have collapsed from the inside after two weeks. In this case, it seems fairly uncontroversial that the Serbs were planning a genocide of the Albanians (they proudly bragged about it) and the genocide was well underway by the time Belgrade was bombed.I expressed this in as few words as possible in my answer. This kind of thing drives thin-skinned, right-wing Serbs crazy. A lot of them still live in a world where Serbia still owns Kosovo and they can do whatever they like with it and if the Albanians don’t like being subject to a genocide they can shut up or go away.Clearly some of these entitled Serbs voted down my answer. If it was a Quora robot, it would have happened days ago (I posted it on Friday). Someone, somewhere doesn’t like having their asses handed to them and as they know the facts of the post are incontrovertible and there is clearly nothing abusive about it, so all they could do was complain about the foreign words in my post. The foreign words in my post are: Vojislav Šešelj: the deputy prime minister of Serbia in 1998 who boasted on television about emptying Kosovo of Albanians.and Račak: an Albanian village in Kosovo where 45 Albanians were massacred by Serbs and which was a turning point in Western efforts to intervene.Anyway, my answer has been restored, so NICE TRY, fascist assholes. -- source link
