Taco Truck (East LA) That’s my friend in the center, Alonzo Campos. He is currently earning his PhD in Education at Claremont Graduate University. He teaches Chicano Studies courses at Cal State Channel Islands. I’m a California Central Valley native. Like most Mexican-American kids I grew up with tacos and baseball. My parents are from Michoacán. I’m culturally Mexican and civically American. I’m a first generation college student. I earned a Physics B.S. from Cal-Poly, San Luis Obispo. I earned a Physics M.S. from San Francisco State University. At UC Davis, I recently completed an Electrical Engineering Ph.D., with a concentration in solar energy and business development.
