fromrusttoroadtrip: By Saturday afternoon the sun had disappeared, a distant memory, a foggy dream, to be replaced by heavy cloud and heavier showers, as surely as the weatherman had predicted. The festival mood had been dampened but not extinguished. People continued to party under marquees, makeshift awnings, inside vans, sipping their beers and looking hopefully at the small patch of cloudless sky on the horizon. It was almost sunset, the end of a sunless day, when suddenly bright orange light split open the clouds and poured out, bathing the entire field in amber glow. On one side of us was the most intense and temporary sunset, on the other a bright enormous rainbow stretching across the entire sky.People came out of their vans to cheer, applauding and wooping toward the sky, climbing on their roofs, hugging eachother and staring up in wonder. The moment only lasted a few minutes, before nighttime began to fall, but it was one of the most magical moments we’ve ever witnessed, an entire field of 25,000 people on the same wavelength, connected by one simple rainbow in the sky.Follow the hashtag #Fromrusttoroadtrip to follow our van conversion project and our travels around Europe! -- source link
