minervacasterly:Bishop Fisher on Margaret Beaufort, Countess of Richmond and Derby:“She is of singular easiness to be spoken unto, full of courteous answer she would make to all that came under her. Of marvelous gentleness she was unto all folks, but especially unto her own, whom she loved and trusted right tenderly.”Margaret died a few months after her son passed away. She was her grandson, Henry VIII’s Regent during his minority. She died shortly after he was secure on the throne, married and crowned jointly with his Spanish bride, Katherine of Aragon, on June of 1509. She was buried in the lady Chapel, in Westminster Abbey, alongside her son and daughter-in-law.Image: Marigold Sherman as Margaret Beaufort in the BBC’s miniseries “Shadow of the Tower” (1972) -- source link
