To be safe and there wasn’t supposed to be anything but the waves. And then he just… flew down, floated over and asked if he could sit. It was nice, just the quiet. But then he asked if I was okay. I didn’t know what to do. I cried, I think. He put his hand on his shoulder and just… let me. No judgment. No telling me to suck it up one way or the other. He just let me. I never told anyone. It was my secret to keep. Part 4 of the first arc of Five Paladins and the Eternal Innovator. Setsuna’s encounter with Lance was the first one that @eternalshield actually pitched me, and I was really excited to work on it. Lance was hard to really get right, but I wanted to convey that this was nothing seemingly massive. It was just a quiet time on the beach, but it was significant to Lance.
