rubykgrant:The second picture I did for my fancy/extravagant outfits with animal themes was Simmons! I picked a lion for him (since his first name is Richard, and hey- lions are just cool). For a while I was stuck thinking about a regular suit with a mane around the collar… not bad, but I’ve seen it a lot. I finally started to think about the designs of lions you see on crests and a coat of arms, how dynamic they are shaped, and I realized; I could do that with his prosthetic cyborg limbs! His clothing is fairly simple, a sleeveless shirt with a high rounded collar, and rounded curves at the hem as well, with matching pants. These would be a pale, cream color, and a warm-brown soft leather boot on his organic leg. The cybernetic limbs are sharper and more elaborate than I normally draw them, with extreme angles. On his shoulder is a pauldron shaped like a lion’s face, and the hand turns into a clawed gauntlet. The cybernetic leg is similar, with the foot design to resemble a paw. On the fabric of the clothing around the cyborg limbs is a pattern of sharp shapes, a little bit like flames, and around his shoulder they work as the lion’s mane (his entire left-side basically works as the lion crest by itself). The armor is a vibrant dark-red maroon, while the pattern framing them are a slightly lighter red. The flame patterns also fit against the round collar and hem of the outfit. The rest of the outfit is has an asymmetrical pattern of circles by his shoulder and hips, acting as the spots young lions have (these would be a more golden-brown, and have a lacy embroidered texture). I love how it balances out the outfit, one side is angular, the other is round. His hair is braided, tied at the end to look a little like the tuft of fur on a lion’s tail. Even the cybernetics that frame his face are designed to look like a profile of lion jaws, open to let out a roar~ -- source link
