dramallamadingdang: pixelatedollhouse: @vegan-kaktus This is the closest I was able to recreate the roof line you wanted. :) Sorry to butt in, but I have a love/hate relationship with roofs, and I thought I’d add a tip. :) @vegan-kaktus: In order to get the gable and the octagonal roof to line up as precisely as the pics you linked, you’re going to need to use the “individualroofslopeangle” cheat – assuming that you have either Pets or Seasons, which included that cheat; if you don’t, then ignore me :) – rather than just the roof tool that came with M&G. And you’ll probably need to fiddle a lot with both pieces, taking the pitch out to decimal places, not just full degrees, to get them to line up right, especially along the edges. Thankfully, you can do that kind of fiddly adjusting with that cheat; you can’t with the roof-slope tool that came with M&G, which works well with more simple roofs but really not with more complex ones, where more precision than full decimal places is generally needed. To use the cheat, bring up the cheat window and type “individualroofslopeangle” (without the quotes) and then any number between 15 and 75. So your full entry in the cheat window might be “individualroofslopeangle 30.54254878256″. (It sounds ridiculous, I know, but believe you me, when I’ve needed to line up roof pieces just so, I’ve taken the pitch out to that many decimal places.) Then, to apply the pitch you typed in to a particular piece of roof, you go into the roof-building section in build mode, as if you were going to build a roof. Hold down the CTRL and the ALT key at the same time (Or whatever the equivalent keys are if you’re on a Mac; I don’t know what those are off the top of my head.), and then click on the piece of roof you want to adjust to whatever angle you typed in when you entered the cheat. It’ll be a process of trial and error, but lucky for you pixelatedollhouse gave you really close values to start with. :) From there, you’ll need to break out the decimal places. I once built a traditional-style cathedral, long ago, and there was lots and lots of roof-fiddling involved with various bits of it. It was by turns fun and infuriating. *laugh* ) -- source link
