zandralee123: I like that you can see my tummy and stretch marks in this photo. I never thought there would come a day where I would honor my stretch marks. I am very grateful for this platform because when I was growing up all I ever saw on media platforms was “perfection” perfect bodies, perfect faces, boobs, asses etc. Body shaming and the desire to be a size 0 STILL is rampant today BUT I have to say we have come a LONG way from the 70’s, 80’s 90’s and the early 2000’s, I know firsthand I lived it. People ask me all the time to show more “provocative” images etc and while I would love to on here and have issues with censorship I RESPECT IG’s platform with extreme gratitude (sounds funny I know). But without it as far as we know the likes of very many truly unique people we would have never gotten to know. Unique people with stories that we get to watch view and share their story with them while the lie of perfection is crushed. I am hopeful for the younger generations that self esteem is cultivated based on who they are, and that they learn to love their unique bodies giving the body the proper “respect” as a vehicle to navigate through their “human experience”. I fell into the “ditch” for many years believing I could not do many of the things my soul desired because I was not worthy due to believing my “vehicle” was somehow broken. My goal is to help people see their vehicle for what it is in the present and honor that with love and gratitude. If we need some fixing to keep the body optimized so that we are healthy and can navigate positively through this experience then so be it. Take charge with respect and love for the body do not let the tweeks that need to be made determine who you are, what you can accomplish while your here, and the life your capable of living! -- source link
