Make My Mac'N Cheese For Christmas! *Don’t forget to send (or tag me in) a pic! JAS’ MAC'N HEAVEN 1lb Cavatappi noodles Shredded Cheese: 2 cups Sharp cheddar 2 cups Mild cheddar 1 cup Mozzarella 1 cup Monterey Jack 1 cup Fontina 1 cup Asiago 1 cup Velveeta (cubed) 2 large eggs (beaten) 2 ½ cups half & half 4 oz of butter 2 tbs of garlic salt 1 tbs of fresh black pepper 1 tbs of sea salt 1 tbs of extra virgin olive oil In a bowl mix all shredded cheese. Add garlic salt and let it sit for at least an hour. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Using your fingers, grease your pan with the olive oil. Boil the noodles roughly 7 mins or until Al dente. Drain. Do not rinse. Return to the pot with a low flame and add 2 ounces of butter. Stir in the Velveeta, eggs and 2 cups of the half & half. The mixture will become slightly thick. Remove from flame. Slowly stir in half of your shredded cheese mixture. Add salt and pepper. Pour mixture into the pan. Layer the remaining shredded cheese evenly on top of the mixture. Dot the pan with the remaining butter and pour the remaining half & half around the sides. Bake uncovered for 35 minutes or until the top is golden brown. Let the macaroni sit for at least 5 mins before serving. -- source link
