wolfbitekink: I wasn’t sure if I should post this here, but I just need to say it. Sunday was a very scary day for the residents of my home town. Vegas has seen its share of terrible things but nothing like this. Over the years I had become numb to the violence here. It had become an every day occurrence. After the horrible events that took place on Sunday and countless lives that are forever changed I can say I have never been prouder to be a native of this city. Our police department and first responders rose to the challenge and face down pure evil with unwavering courage and in a matter of minutes they saved crowds of people from further harm. The people of Las Vegas, those I had lost faith in, banded together and kept each other safe. Some sacrificing their lives for the lives of complete strangers. Then within hours the community stepped up and showed amazing support, from donating blood, food, clothes, and even opening their own homes to strangers that were scared, hungry, or just needed a safe place to collect themselves. After the days went by and the dust begins settle, I read the stories of what took place. The stories of average citizens like myself that risked it all to save not only the ones they love, but the lives of complete strangers. And I continue see our community working together to help one another. I can say it now… Vegas is its people. Vegas is brave. Vegas is perseverance. Vegas is strong. Thank you to everyone that risked it all to protect us. Thank you to those that have given so much to those effected. My thoughts, and deepest condolences to those that have been lost and those that have lost. My heart is with you. #VegasStrong Seriously sad. ☹️☹️ -- source link
