dominateeye: polyethyleneglow: cocainesocialist: noislandofdreams: Ray Bailey’s mansion - the man who owns the company that cladded the Grenfell tower Do you reckon his house has sprinklers? Fire alarms? there’s one way to find out Apparently the residents didn’t want sprinklers. As if residents are allowed to just decide to not include something that’s 100% necessary for safety. Something seems off about that. I think what’s more likely is that due to different approaches to fire safety in the UK (they try to contain fires to one unit instead of having a building-wide system to put them out, meaning sprinklers are NOT legally required) they chose not to install sprinklers and then tried to claim it was the residents’ fault when criticised. Sadly we probably won’t find out the truth until that building gets torn down. I 100% believe the tories deliberately changed the rules in health and safety to suit them one way or another. I’m sure we can agree now that police followed protocol and the fire brigade went above and beyond what it generally even ALLOWED, but that fire should NOT have escalated that quickly. It shouldn’t have escalated at all, I watched a woman talk about how the fire was from the outside not inside, people could’ve escaped. They even did tests on that particular cladding which caught fire from HEAT alone, nevermind fire. -- source link
