Look ma, my pictures on the cover! @sarahsquirm , photographed before her Empty Bottle performance back in February. Having lived in Chicago for close to ten (!) years now, and having always enjoyed picking up my copy of the Reader, feels cool to have a photo I took on the cover. Honestly, this shoot was a little strange; I was feeling some serious winter lethargy and having a hard time gathering any creating energy or self-confidence. And yet, I get my first cover out of the deal. Feels good. I’m honestly not sure what my future with commissioned photography looks like, but this feels like a cool mini milestone of sorts for me, shooting for a well regarded publication in the city I love.
